Entry fee is 6.00 Euro to be paid via National Federation; 9.00 Euro to be paid via DE Program.

Allocation of players to their sections will be made as random as possible; however, geographical distribution, as well as an achievement of reasonable equality of the average rating, will be taken into account.

Tournament Organization

The tournament will start on 15 June 2019. The closing of the registrations is 5th of June 2019 to allow for pairings

The semifinal stage is expected to be started not later than 1 May 2020.

The final is expected to be started not later than 15 March 2021.

Qualifications

The winner and the runner-up of each preliminary section will qualify for the next round. Qualifications to the Final depend on the number of semifinal sections.

Although the number of preliminary sections which each player may enter is unlimited, no player will qualify for more than two semifinal sections or more than one place in the final.

Member Federations are asked to give the tournament wide publicity to all their players.

We wish all participants many interesting games and new connections with CC friends in other countries, based on the spirit of friendship and the ICCF motto AMICI SUMUS.

5th British Webserver Team Tournament

Russell Sherwood  Tuesday, May 7, 2019

5th British WS Tournament - Division 1

8 games remaining and a tight finish with all bar one team still capable of achieving first place.

Stand game appears to be Rhodes- Relyea on Board 3

5th British WS Tournament - Division 2

The division has completed with the BCCA Kings and Civil Service A promoted and Natcor A and White Rose B relegated.

A most interesting game was Gareth Yeo' win against James Mansoon

5th British WS Tournament - Division 3

Lots still to play for with 16 games remaining. Schrach Dragons and Herts and Minds appear to have secured the promotion spots but could still be caught by the BCCA Rooks and BCCA Griffins. Cannon-Scott could well prove a decisive game

5th British WS Tournament - Division 4A

BCCA Tacticians secured easy promotion with a 90% score! Credit goes to Michael Farmer and JDM Tymms on 100% scores!

5th British WS Tournament - Division 4B

BCCA Cavaliers performed almost as well as BCCA Tacitians by scoring 85% with Pablo Mourjan and David Elwood also scoring 100%

Double Trouble

Russell Sherwood  Tuesday, May 7, 2019

The British Ladies Correspondence Chess Championship 2017/18 concluded with a tie fo 1st place between pre-event favourites, LGM Helen Sherwood (WLS) and LGM Dawn Williamson (ENG)

On the same day, Helen achieved a minimum of shared 1st place in the 2018/19 event, with a likely shared 1st place, also again with LGM Williamson!

A strong Welsh performance in this event from Gareth Yeo in 2nd place and Ian Jones in 3rd, both following Praveen Rallabandi in 1st place.

Great play from both Gareth and Ian, with Ian reversing the result with Russell Sherwood from the previous year.

Tournament Update: 2nd States and Regions

Russell Sherwood  Sunday, April 28, 2019

Despite the start date not being until the 1st of May, the play has been brisk with 8 games completed in the 1st Division and 34 in the Second. Unusually for modern Correspondence Chess over 50% of the games have been decisive.

The offer of Norms on all boards in this popular and well-received tournament seems to have prompted positive play and planning for the next renewal is underway, considering that enquires have already been received!

States and Regions CCC 2019 Division One

Still plenty of manoeuvring taking place. Stand out result so far is Sherwood - Vivante- Sowter 1-0, with some poison found in an off-beat Nimzo-Indian line, although still a while before this game becomes public!

States and Regions CCC 2019 Division Two

Early days but Wes Wales Dragons (Jean, Scott, Denton and Smith) are  the standout team so far
